Timeline

The main topics in 2022-2023 are Ukrainian history and cultures of remembrance. The team produces a video series and podcast on Ukrainian history in Ukrainian and English and publishes lectures and other digital educational content. All materials are available for free on the website citizen-plus.com.

A study trip to Berlin deals with cultures of remembrance in Germany and Ukraine - during the war and in exile. A webinar series invites Ukrainian historians and writers to talk about Ukrainian history to an international audience. Cooperation events deal with Ukrainian activists’ participation and memory work in exile, practices for newcomers, and the Jewish community in Berlin.

In 2021, the project focuses on conspiracy theories and disinformation. An online course on udemy.com and a podcast in Ukrainian and Russian are produced. The winners of an essay competition are invited to a study trip to Berlin. The participants meet civil society activists and local media, learn about conspiracy theories, fact-checking and hate speech, and visit political and cultural institutions.
